JOE PURCHASES GRANVILLE CHEMICAL PLANT

This wealthy outsider has already put his money to good use. Yesterday afternoon, Joe closed on the purchase of the Chemical plant, resulting in an expansion to save hundreds from unemployment. Rumors had been spreading prior to the actual sale, but yesterday, reports were made a reality. As the Gazette had previously reported, the plant was undergoing major pay cuts, causing severe distress for all employees and their families. Following the purchase, Joe said in a statement, “We hope with a complete renovation of the plant, we can restore the job stability at the plant in Granville…” He went on to discuss the new creation of natural gas processing, as well as an exclusive polymer to be only manufactured in a few plants, one of them being Granville’s. We spoke to Tom Norsk, a long time plant supervisor. “It’s a great relief, not just for me, but for my wife as well. We knew layoffs were in the near future. We love this town for its security and we worried we might lose that. I feel so grateful to Joe for what he’s done.” And Norsk isn’t the only one. There’s a cheeriness surrounding our town and it seems we know exactly who to thank. 

NEW RESIDENT DEDICATES HIMSELF TO IMPROVING LIFE IN GRANVILLE 

JOE DONATES THOUSANDS TO GRANVILLE ELEMENTARY

New Granville resident, who prefers to be referred to as "Joe", has dedicated himself to improving Granville. "This is a lovely town with lovely people and I cannot think of a better way to spend my time and money than transforming Granville into the best town it can be," Joe declared at a town hall meeting on Thursday after announcing that he will donate 3 million dollars to renovating Granville Elementary School. Granville Elementary teacher Vivie Richards says that she and her students feel "incredibly fortunate to have such a generous donation coming their way." Ms. Richards also informed us that the school plans on hosting a ceremony in honor of Joe to thank him for his generosity. 

Other than Joe being a wealthy outsider, no one seems to know much about him. After extensive investigation, Gazette reporters were unable to learn where he is from, how he made his fortune or what brought him to Granville. When asked what sparked his interest in this town Joe replied, "Granville feels like a place where I can really plant the seeds for change and I have a strong desire to become a part of this lovely community." 

Residents of Granville do not seem particularly concerned about Joe's past and are simply thankful for his presence. "I suppose it's odd that we don't know much about him but I figure he must have just wanted to start a new life in a new place. He doesn't talk like folks around here--he's got that fancy accent, but anyone who wants to give away his money to help our community is okay in my book. The economy has been tough on Granville so it's nice to have a helping hand," a local farmer comments. 

Joe's past may remain a mystery, but one thing about Joe is clear: he is a man of incredible wealth, ambition and generosity.
